Day 5 [WayBeyond]
For those of you that don't know the full story, here is a brief summary. Just wading in water at Navarre Beach on Sunday morning about mid chest level and apparently a strong undertow took me under. I fought it instead of going along with it and lost. I was dead for about 6 minutes (2 minutes floating on water and another 4 minutes on land. A few young guys dragged me to land, one person vacationing did mouth to mouth and another young lady who was also vacationing did chest compressions. They finally got a pulse and minutes later I started coughing and breathing. I don't remember that entire day nor the day after (Monday) in ICU, including pulling out my tubes when waking up and having restraints placed on me. I was moved to a private room thanks to a good friend.
Since then my condition has improved each day and I have been on a O2 tube to help with breathing. The next challenge is trying to get my temperature down so I can hopefully be released on Saturday. I was hoping to get released today (Friday) but God, the doctors and my wife, Charmeretta Timothy, know best. Keep me in your prayers as I know you will.
